Dominic Conti was born in San Francisco, California. When he was 15 months old, he and his family moved to St. Louis, Missouri. Then they picked up and moved again when he was five years old -- this time to Erie, Pennsylvania.

While in high school, he performed in his first play (THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER). After graduation, Dominic went to John Carroll University and majored in English and philosophy. During the summer after sophomore year, Dominic auditioned for a play at the behest of his friend. He was cast in the production and performed in his second play (STEEL KISS). It was during this time, at the age of 21, that he decided to change course and enroll at the University of Pittsburgh. In addition to majoring in English, he also minored in theatre (and philosophy) as he had decided that he wanted to be an actor.

Upon graduating from U of Pitt, he moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue his acting career. Dominic worked with several notable Chicago theatre companies (see resume). In 1999, he began working with a physical theatre company called Plasticene. He became an ensemble member in 2002.

While performing THE COMPLETE HISTORY OF AMERICA (ABRIDGED) with The Noble Fool Theater in 2002, Dominic was discovered by members of the Reduced Shakespeare Company talent who were in Chicago at the time. He was invited to play the same role in RSC's production in 2004 and has since become a company member. He continues to tour with RSC, which has allowed him the opportunity to perform at many great venues, such as The Kennedy Center, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Merrimack Repertory, Capital Repertory and Holders Season in St James, Barbados.

Dominic is able to put his unique body type, flexibility, physicality, and education (commedia dell 'arte, mime, clown, stage combat, etc.) to use in his acting work, whether the work be dramatic or comical, though he specializes in physical comedy.

Dominic has booked principal roles in several commercials including the national spots for HANES and DAIRY MANAGEMENT, INC., and regional spots for FORUM CREDIT UNION, DRANO MAX GEL, CHICAGO TRIBUNE, CHICAGO BULLS, MSNBC, MTV, and DAILY HERALD. Click here to see his commercial reel.

After 13 years of living and acting in Chicago, Dominic moved to Los Angeles in June 2006 to continue the pursuit.

Testimonials

"Dominic Conti has worked for the Reduced Shakespeare Company for almost two years and in that time has become a valued member of our organization.

We are a three-man theatre company that tours across the country and all over the world. It's important that we hire talented actors, but it's even more Guidara Bendyimportant that we hire

good people. So much of our time is spent in each other's company that it's vital we not hire jerks.

Dominic, I'm happy to say, is no jerk. He's funny, fairminded, committed, and hard-working. We expect to work with Dominic for a very long time..."

"Dominic Conti is the secret weapon you bring with you on any theatrical project - flexible, committed, full-body, full-on - if he can't fix it, feel it, rock it, or make it work, then you can be sure that no one can. His leading-man ease, Keatonesque humor, and Chicago-style ensemble instincts make him an actor you watch, love, trust and want to work with over and over again."
